The Chemerung Waterfall Excursion at Tanjong Jara Resort is one of the best ways to immerse oneself in the natural charms close to the resort. Captain Mokhtar, or Capt Mokh in short, is the knowledgeable resident naturalist, leading walks through the jungle and guiding a cruise along the Marang River, taking guests on a journey to discover the secret wonders of the rainforest.
Sungai Chemerung Recreational Forest Reserve is an hour’s drive from the Resort. A short brief is given before the excursion which includes information about the type of forest surrounding the area as well as what to expect on the trail. After a short round of calisthenics, guests are advised to answer their personal calls to nature before they start their journey.
Resident Naturalist Captain Mokhtar with a Survival Pack
Each member of the excursion is given a Survival Pack which is well-equipped to make it through the exciting journey ahead. Mineral water bottles and isotonic drinks will keep the adventurer hydrated, while fruits, sandwiches and salad for lunch maintain energy levels, a small towel is also provided for the humid journey as well as a large towel to dry off after splashing around in the falls.
Magnificent Meranti Tree

After an interesting two-hour trek, you will have reached your destination.
